SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER

A school-based health clinic (SBHC) is just like any other medical clinic but located on school property.

Business hours will be 8:00am- 5:00pm Monday through Friday, year round.To make an appointment, you can call 501-556-4344.

The clinic is able to do routine immunizations and comprehensive annual exams, sports physicals, laboratory tests, and care for illness and injury.

School Appointment Process

  1. Parent/Guardian must provide consent to treat at the School Based Health Center.

Well Visit

Parent/Guardian calls the clinic at 501-556-4344 to schedule an appointment.

The school health coordinator notifies the school with the date and time of the appointment.

School health coordinator will escort elementary students to and from their appointment.

High School students will walk over for their appointment, once notified by the office.

School health coordinator will notify the High School office that the student is returning to class.

Sick Visit

Student will go to the school nurse.

School nurse will contact clinic for an immediate appointment.

School health coordinator will escort elementary students to and from their appointment.

High School students will walk over their appointment. The School Nurse will notify the High School office of medical appointment.

If the student needs to go home, student will be sent back to the school nurse’s office.  Student will be checked out through the school office.

-  Students will not be counted absent from school when appointments follow the process listed above. - All visits will be billed to the insurance provided. If your insurance plan requires a primary care physician (PCP), you will need to contact your insurance carrier and assign an ARcare (as PCP) accordingly.

- If the student is uninsured, please contact the School Based Health Center to meet with a case manager that can assist with insurance application and enrollment.
